Love is much like a wild rose,

Beautiful and calm,

But willing to draw blood in its defense

I totally agree with this romantic love saying. Love is a garden, love is a flower, love is a rose…Love is beautiful, love is calm and love is serene. But have you ever seen a cat defending its kittens, a dog its puppies or any woman for that matter defending her own children? The maternal instinct to defend our young ones is so strong that a frail, defenseless woman, when her kids are in danger can wrestle a world champion and literally put him to the ground, no joke. Not only mothers but all true love will draw its defense in the face of danger. People have walked through fires to rescue the ones they love and have demonstrated incalculable strength when their love was tested. So to compare love to a rose, that draws blood with its thorns to whoever wants to prick her is only appropriate, don’t you think?
