I am sure this marriage quote is meant to be humorous but it reflects reality. Why is it that when one gets married, he has to hand over half of what he or she makes to previous his marriage partner in case of a divorce. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for women’s rights and proper treatment, and if a woman chooses to stay at home and raise the kids, it is a super though job and should not taken for granted and in case a divorce does occur after she has sacrificed so much for, she should be compensated for all the years she did not make an earning and be able to land on her feet. However, in some cases, such is not the case, and sometimes, people take advantage of this rule. Such a rule should include many more clauses, like how many kids do they have in common? Who took care of them? Who worked and who stayed at home? And after careful calculation, there should be a fair payment. Otherwise, anyone in their right mind, would marry for money?
